CENTEL believes that the social dimension is a core component in the collective transition toward a long-term, conscious society. We also recognize the potential impacts our business operations may have on communities. Therefore, our business practice guidelines are designed to place social considerations at the heart of our decision-making. We are committed to supporting and uplifting the communities in which we operate, ensuring that we thrive and grow together.

Our key social and operational objectives include respecting and promoting human rights, developing human resources, enhancing stakeholders well-being and safety, fostering a positive work environment, and cultivating an organizational culture that values continuous learning and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI). These efforts enable CENTEL to operate effectively amid changing conditions and evolving stakeholder expectations.

Human Rights

CENTEL recognizes the importance of sensitive human rights issues and their potential positive and negative impacts on business activities. Therefore, we prioritize responsible management to ensure that our operations remain free from human rights violations. This commitment aligns with principles of good corporate governance and reflects our deep respect for human rights.

We uphold human rights principles as outlined in our Human Rights Policy, which is based on internationally recognized frameworks such as the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), Child rights and business principles (CRBP), the UN Global Compact (UNGC), International Labour Organization (ILO) standards, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These frameworks guide both our internal operations and our engagement with business partners, helping us mitigate human rights risks and create opportunities to promote and protect human rights across all relevant stakeholder groups.

We conduct an annual Human Rights Due Diligence (HRDD) review, with a comprehensive reassessment performed every three years. The next full reassessment is scheduled for 2026, ensuring our approach remains responsive to evolving stakeholder expectations and emerging human rights risks.

We are committed to strengthening human rights risk management across our value chain. This includes enhancing human rights risk assessments for critical Tier 1 suppliers, with a target of achieving 100% coverage by 2030.

Employee Stewardship

CENTEL recognizes employees as vital assets in driving organizational resilience and maintaining a competitive advantage. Accordingly, we emphasize systematic human resource management aligned with international standards and legal requirements. We have established a Welfare Committee, an Employee Committee, and a Welfare Working Group to promote labour oversight in line with human rights principles. These bodies ensure fair treatment regardless of differences in characteristics, backgrounds, or circumstances; uphold proper working conditions and hours; and support health, well-being, and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) within the organization. We continuously review and adjust employee benefits and compensation to reflect current conditions, aiming to enhance the standard of living for our employees and their families.

Human Resource Development

CENTEL recognizes that human resources are a key driver of sustainable and consistent business growth. Our people are valuable assets who continuously contribute to the organization’s success. To reinforce this commitment, we actively monitor Human Capital Return on Investment (HC ROI) to enhance overall business performance.

We are advancing toward a Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) model while prioritizing employee development through comprehensive training programs and fostering adaptability in response to rapid changes in the business environment. In addition, we leverage people analytics to support strategic workforce planning and implement succession planning for key positions to ensure business continuity.

CENTEL is also committed to cultivating an organizational culture built on mutual respect. We strive to provide a work environment that supports both physical and mental well-being, while strengthening our position as an employer of choice.

Occupational Health Safety and Working Environment

CENTEL is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for all stakeholders—including employees, customers, suppliers, and partners. Our internal teams conduct regular on-site inspections and training to ensure compliance with safety standards across all operations. We also perform Hazard Identification and Risk Assessments to identify potential risks and implement appropriate mitigation measures, including the provision of additional equipment, to improve workplace conditions and enhance operational safety in line with our Occupational Health, Safety, and Work Environment Policy.

Our ultimate goal is to achieve a zero Lost Time Injury Frequency Rate (LTIFR) and maintain zero fatalities. To support this, we proactively identify hazards, assess their potential impacts, and report findings to the Occupational Health and Safety Committee (OHSC) and senior management. These insights enable relevant teams to implement effective control measures and drive continuous improvement in our occupational health and safety systems.

Social Contribution and Community Development

At CENTEL, we are committed to sustainable growth by creating shared value for our business and the communities we serve. Our approach focuses on three key channels: Community Project, Business Innovation, and Responsible Procurement.

Through these channels, we drive initiatives such as knowledge sharing, workforce development, job creation, income generation, culture & Heritage preservation, and the promotion of equality and local products. We also encourage and support our employees to actively participate in volunteer activities.

We engage closely with stakeholders, particularly local communities, to understand their needs and expectations. Through community surveys, accessible communication channels, and a transparent grievance mechanism, we ensure concerns are addressed promptly and respectfully.

To enhance our impact, we aim to adopt Social Return on Investment (SROI) methods to better align community initiatives with our business goals and deliver measurable social, economic, and environmental benefits.
